The newest shipment of Gin Barrel is hitting our distributor, Maletis, this Wednesday. This is one of the best Gin Barrel ciders we have made I think. This current batch was made from 100% Gravenstein apples from North Plains, OR. They were all hand picked, and then pressed and juiced by our neighbors at Portland Juice Press. The carbonation on this batch is very low, just a bit above still. I hope you like it. It is available at Bushwhacker by the bottle, or at better bottle shops.

In the midst of harvest, comes a cider we have been aging in Big Bottom Whiskey barrels for just over 4 months. We found some time to bottle this very special cider. The cider has an amazing nose of vanilla, a nice balanced acid mouth feel, and a slightly oaky finish with just a hint of whiskey.

It is available at Bushwhacker, and at various bottle shops.

On tap right now is our Project Z. Why is it called that? It was made using apple from EZ Orchards. It’s a blend of French and British cider apples, that I fermented completely dry. You can notice some subtle similarities between our blend and EZ Orchards, but that being said, they are pretty different. A few reasons is that I used a Champagne yeast, and Kevin does no use added yeast at all. Also, my blend used a lot less varieties than his. We also use different fermentation methods, mine being quicker and warmer, and his taking much longer and at lower temps.

Try it before it’s gone!!
